About Nivine

Reality keeps shifting and changing, reminding me constantly of the impermanence of life. As a child I experienced war in my home country Lebanon, as a teenager I was heartbroken by the loss of my parents and as a grown-up I suffered from various spinal injuries.

“Yoga allows you to find an inner peace that is not ruffled and riled by the endless stresses and struggles of life.” ― B.K.S. Iyengar, Light on Life.

Yoga was a powerful healing force that transformed my physical and emotional pain.  Community was the only support I had without my parents. Both Yoga and community opened my heart and mind to compassion.

I began teaching yoga in 2014, after completing the 200-hour and 300-hour teacher-training with Cyndi Lee. The desire to deepen my own practice led me to discover the Iyengar method, and I soon fell in love with its depth and precision. I credit Iyengar Yoga for healing my spinal injuries and enabling me to live with ease after suffering from chronic pain for many years. My own experience with physical and emotional pain has led me to discover that my dharma is to share the gift of yoga with the world, as yoga and the support of the yoga community have helped me to stay grounded through all of life's ups and downs. I feel in my heart that my mission is to be of service to others, to spread the light and make the world a better place. I am passionate about connecting with people, whether sharing in their joy or being there for them through pain and suffering.

“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured” -- B.K.S. Iyengar

After discovering Iyengar Yoga, I embarked upon a new journey, studying with my teachers Katrin Loveland and Colleen Gallagher (the only certified senior-level Iyengar teacher in Florida) and subsequently graduated as a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT). I attended numerous yoga workshops with several of the most widely respected Iyengar instructors -- both in India (with Geeta, Prashant and Abhijata Iyengar) and the US (Patricia Walden, Manuso Manos, John Schumacher, Ramanand Patel, Eddy and Mary Marks, Bobby Clennell and Kevin Gardiner). I consider myself to be a student of yoga, as well as a teacher; I am always excited to learn new skills and tools to better assist and guide my students.

“Knowledge has a beginning but no end” -- Geeta Iyengar

My classes are fun and energetic and my patient, methodical style of teaching works well with both beginners and more seasoned yogis. I aim to help my students achieve better understanding of the asanas (postures), along with better overall body awareness and control. I encourage them towards continuous progress, regardless of ability level. With perseverance, my students will attain a strong, healthy body and a calm, centered mind, developing the courage to navigate life's rocky waves, and ultimately, be able to help others in return.

We practice yoga for all the times that we are not practicing yoga. Yoga has the ability to transform our lives, by both increasing our joy and diminishing our pain. Join me on this journey together! Namaste!
